Jocey Henderson
Operations Director

Jocey Henderson is a Retired Army Reserve Sergeant Major with over 30 years of military experience. Her last assignments include: Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Division Personnel Sergeant Major, and Sergeant Major of Troops for Deploying 98th Division Soldiers. She is an Honor Graduate from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, TX, and graduated with Highest Honors from both Rochester Institute of Technology and Roberts Wesleyan College and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Management.

Jocey is a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, American Legion, Honor Flight Rochester, Monroe County Veterans Services Advisory Council, Rochester Rotary, The Forty & Eight, and Veterans Business Council Board of Directors.

She loves spending time with family and friends – especially her five grandchildren. Hobbies include golf, gardening, and volunteering in support of veterans and families.

Sue Sullivan
Director of Finance and Administration

Sue is a certified public accountant and seasoned professional with over twenty-five years’ experience in Grants Management, Business and Accounting Operations, Personnel and Human Resources Administration and Facilities Management. Her favorite spectator sports are professional football and baseball. During the summer months she enjoys trying her hand at a leisure game of golf.

After many years of playing keyboard with her church’s worship team, her volunteering hours currently consist of counting Sunday offering and some light bookkeeping in the church office. Sue loves God, family, friends and animals – large and small.

Jennifer Gibson
Director of Development

Jennifer joined the Veterans Outreach Center team in April of 2016. She has worked in philanthropy for more than 10 years at a variety of organizations, from a Broadway theater company to a Big Ten University to Lollypop Farm. Jennifer holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Genesee Valley Chapter, Rochester Rotary, and the current class of Person2Person Rochester. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys performing in community theatre, traveling, and spending time with her family and 3 dogs at Conesus Lake.

Matthew McGee
Assistant to Executive Director & Marketing Coordinator

Matthew is a retired police officer from the City of Rochester Police Department and also is a retired officer from the United States Coast Guard. Matthew holds a Bachelor’s of Science in History & Master’s Degree in Public Administration from SUNY Brockport. Matthew is a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.

Matthew enjoys traveling, attending sporting events (including being a season ticket holder for almost a decade for the Rochester Knighthawks), attending the RBTL and Geva theatres, exploring the Finger Lakes Region, and spending time with his family. Matthew and his wife Becky live in the Rochester area and have two adult children, Joseph (son) and Jordan (daughter).

Kevin Gross
Development Associate

Kevin hails from Dryden, NY. He has a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from SUNY Oswego, and spent five years as a Stage Manager. Kevin then pursued a career with Boy Scouts of America, spending ten years as a professional, raising money, supervising volunteer training, activities and summer camp operations. Kevin, his wife Kate and son Geoffrey live in Hamlin.

Lindsay Chambers
Volunteer Coordinator & Third Party Event Coordinator

Lindsay Chambers joined Veterans Outreach Center in May of 2016. Prior to joining VOC, she worked with NAMI Rochester and Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley. Lindsay has been working in Development for the past 9 years. Lindsay lives in Fairport with her husband and 2 children.

Marianne Sernoffsky
Program Manager - Supportive Services for Veterans Families, Buffalo Office

Marianne is the proud spouse of a 26-year Army Veteran and has been working with Veterans for over 18 years. In the Army Creed it states “I will always place the mission first, I will never accept defeat, I will never quit” Marianne follows those ethos above and beyond. Veterans are near and dear to Marianne’s heart.

Sean Sizer
Program Manager - Supportive Services for Veterans Families, Rochester Office

Sean Sizer joined the Army after graduating from Rush-Henrietta HS in 1990. Sean was stationed in Baumholder Germany and after serving 5 ½ years in the infantry, Sean was chosen to become a recruiter and came home to recruit in Henrietta. Sean then spent additional tours as a recruiter in Detroit and Cleveland. Sean retired from the US Army in 2010. Sean joined VOC in 2015. Sean, his wife and two children reside in the Rochester area.

Dave Oliver
Education Specialist

Dave has been serving in the United States Army and the New York Army National Guard as an Infantryman for 32 years. He has 3 deployments to Afghanistan as well as half a dozen Homeland Security missions. Dave has a AS in History from Monroe Community College, BA in History from SUNY Geneseo and a MA in Military History from the American Military University. He lives in the Rochester area with his wife Janeen and two sons Ethan and Thomas.

Sean Smith
Mentoring Coordinator

Sean Smith is the peer mentor coordinator for Veterans Outreach Center’s Battle Buddy program. Sean is an 18-year Army Veteran and a 2014 Ranger School Graduate, and recently returned from competing in the 2017 U.S. Army Best Ranger Competition. Sean earned dual Associates Degrees in Addictions Counseling & Liberal Arts and Sciences from Monroe Community College. Sean is the co-founder of ROCovery Fitness, along with his fiancé Yana Khashper. Sean and Yana, along with their dogs Brody and Marley, reside at the new ROCovery Outreach Center.

Nena Siverd
Employment Services Manager

Nena has 20+ years’ experience in Employment & Training programs with non-profit agencies in Rochester and of those 17 years have been working at VOC serving a diverse socio-economic veteran population. She loves animals (especially her two dogs and four cats), spending time with family and friends, watching Boston teams (especially Red Sox and Patriots), and horseback riding!

Alec Andrest
Residential Services Manager

Alec Andrest joined the Veterans Outreach Center as the Residential Manager in March of 2016. Alec served 8 years in The United States Marine Corps 2006-2014. His passion for Veteran advocacy began as a financial services representative and grew when he was elected to the Veterans Business Council in July of 2015. Alec and his wife Julianna have 3 boys, reside in Irondequoit and belong to Grace Church.

Kinga Kondor Hine, LMHC, NCC, RYT 200
Wellness Manager

Kinga has been a practicing Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 1996. She has a diverse counseling background, having worked with developmentally disabled adults, college students, children and families, couples, and most recently military veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress and readjustment issues. Kinga has a passion for yoga and has adapted aspects of her training into counseling practice.

Alyssa Farruggia
Flag Store Manager

Alyssa Farruggia graduated from the College at Brockport in 2011. Alyssa served in AmeriCorps NCCC out of Sacramento, CA, working on various projects including responding to Hurricane Sandy and helping students get community service hours for graduation. After returning home, she served in AmeriCorps VISTA at Stars and Stripes Flag Store. She completed her VISTA term in 2014, and stayed on as the manager at Stars and Stripes. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys the outdoors, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Bob Gregoire
Financial Counselor

Bob is a retired Naval Captain with over 38 years of service. Bob holds a MS Degree in Computer Systems Management. Captain Gregoire is married to Janice (Marsai) of Lincoln Park, MI and have three children and four grandchildren. Captain and Mrs. Gregoire currently reside in Rochester, NY.
